Cindy P., SilverTowne Customer Service Representative
In May of 2009, Cindy started her journey here at SilverTowne in the shipping department. In one of the busiest times that company has ever seen due to the market crash and silver prices seeing over $50/ounce, you could say that she got her start head first in the deep end. With 13+ years experience, she has made an impact on more than one area of the business and continues her incredible work ethic today helping customers navigate the ins and outs of collecting and investing.
Beginning Job Title: “I started in the shipping department when I got hired. There were five or six of us full time back then and we were super busy all the time. I have worked in a number of different areas though, including fulfillment, receiving, and front sales.”
Current Job Title: “I am currently a customer service representative. I talk to customers, take orders, check tracking on orders, answer questions, etc. I help the customer in any way possible.”
Favorite Part of Her Job: “Talking to customers I would say. I just really like talking to people in general.”
Biggest Surprise Over the Years: “The biggest surprise I would say is that I still continue to learn something new every day. There is always something to learn in this job or about this business. It doesn’t matter how much experience a person has. Also, the amount of silver that we sell/ship still surprises me.”
Biggest Change Over the Years: “I would say in my time here I’ve seen a shift happen in what we sell more of. For example, we used to sell way more coins and numismatic products than silver. Now it’s the opposite. The amount of people investing in precious metals has changed a lot and grown quite a bit.”
Advice For New Customers: “This happens all the time, but when new customers call in, the number one thing I want them to know is that they should buy what they can afford. If you can’t go straight to gold, buy silver and work your way up. And also it’s a long term investment. The value of precious metals is going to change over time.”
Fondest Memory: “Nothing specific really, just that I love everyone I’ve worked with. Some of them are not employed here anymore and some are.”
What She Looks Forward To: “Seeing how the business will continue to grow and change.”
Favorite Music: “Country music, old and new.”
Outside of SilverTowne, Cindy enjoys spending time with her husband of 47 years on the farm with their cows. She has four children, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. In addition, she enjoys reading and crocheting.
